heres a lovely little carp at 18lb 11oz










was a lovely fish and what a fight taken on halibut pellet tipped with fake corn 8) using shoker set up.

and heres my pride and joy...my 23lb 3oz common...gorgeous!!!













i also had 2 more out,5lb mirror and 13lb 8oz mirror.

best wekends fishing ever!!! and skywalker......

On a side note - managed a day off and went upto Lakeland Fishery in Hatfield Peveral, a lovely hot day with a haul of approx 15 Tench between 2-3LB and 5 Common upto 5 LB - excellent !!!!!!!

Anyway, I am no expert but steadily getting hooked into the carp fishing, River however I have never fished, not sure if its fast flowing but its huge therefore I would have thought there are faster flowing parts than others, are there any tips on fishing a river to a lake ? I mainly float fish but have started ledgering now so with more practise I can cover both bases.
Some tips from the masters on here however would be brilliant ?

I have put a couple of posts on here re being new to the Carp world but do a lot of float fishing at the moment just whilst I improve my knowledge.......luckly I have had my old mans Carp rod but now looking to purchase a couple of decent rods with a budget of approx £200ish, not sure if this is feasable

If anyone could give an idea on a couple of rods that I would use for day ticket float fishing that can handle some carp upto 20lb plus your usual silverfish
