River Fishing

Peeps
I am off to Lucksall Camping Park in August and on the back is River Wye - from pics I have seen, there are many fish species available and looking forward (especially as the wife sorted a pitch next to the River !!!!!!!- touch)
Anyway, I am no expert but steadily getting hooked into the carp fishing, River however I have never fished, not sure if its fast flowing but its huge therefore I would have thought there are faster flowing parts than others, are there any tips on fishing a river to a lake ? I mainly float fish but have started ledgering now so with more practise I can cover both bases.
Some tips from the masters on here however would be brilliant ?
